Very nice. You can simply mark an area of your screen and then share it. It is much more efficient than uploading them to this forum.

Re: A tool for sharing pics
(just for captured screens... actual photo might come out not in the same quality... plus, you don't to actually upload anything. All our pics are from the web, just use Google image search to find existing versions already online and use their urls...)
Re: A tool for sharing pics
I know how to do it. It's just, the format of sharing pics in this forum is terrible, for many reasons. I think we should share them more efficiently. As to the quality, I think you're wrong.

Re: A tool for sharing pics
If the tool captures screens and does not allow to upload the photos themselves i'm factually right. Most artworks are either very heavy JPEGS or interlaced PNGS, which means turning them into a lower quality JPEG or uninterlaced PNG diminishes quality.
Re: A tool for sharing pics
Interesting, I'll test that. For me, print screen works fine so ido.

I tested. You're right. Damnit.
But it works to a certain extent, with small-frame pics, I think.

Re: A tool for sharing pics
Yeah, and screen prints... though i don't see whats the problem with BBCODE images on the forum, like, what's so better about this tool?
Re: A tool for sharing pics
1. You can't run the uploading process in the background. You have to wait until all is uploaded until you can begin uploading a new pic.
2. You can't share a pic directly. You need to enter a separate window - this forum - and then locate the pic from the browsing window. You can't just find a pic on the web, click on it and share.
3. You can't browse through previously shared pics in an orderly fashion.

WTH?

Re: A tool for sharing pics
Right. But my other two objections still exist.
Separate windows == the web page we are currently browsing in. Say I find a pic on deviantart. In order to share in the forum, I need to actually open the forum tab. With a sharing tool I can just click on it and share.

Re: A tool for sharing pics
Oh i see.. but the idea is not photo sharing by itself, we are not a photography forum... we want to give context and write some description about the photo and what we've used it for... plus divide the art to different topics (clothing, scenery and so forth..). Idk, i never felt it to be so bad and cumbersome.
Re: A tool for sharing pics
That's because you tend to have a dark ages approach to technology. It is measurably slower to copy-paste a link into a forum (and embed it in spoiler alert), then to simply tap a pic and press 'share'.
So what if it's not a photography forum? It would be more efficient to share using an app, and provide context using captions and comments.

Re: A tool for sharing pics
Its not the same... I want to be able to design text and a post as i see fit, like with the Project:Earth topic. It's not slow (5 seconds tops), and you don't have to put the spoiler if u don't wanna... seems weird to have a different app for photos and a forum for text instead of everything on the same site.
